Qhayiya Jewellery Designs is a close cooperation company founded by three artistic, creative and ambitious young women who studied jewellery design and manufacturing at the Central university of technology in Welkom.
The ladies were granted a NQF level 3 learnership in jewellery design and manufacturing at Harmony jewellery school in 2005, they studied further to obtain their National diploma in 2009 at the Central University of Technology. That is where they identified the niche in the market of designing and manufacturing jewellery in Free State province and Qhayiya Jewellery Designs was born.
Qhayiya comes from the Xhosa name "Ukuqhayisa" meaning being proud of yourself, your work and what you do. Our design are unique, aesthetic and inspired by African cultures, patterns, textures and the beautiful nature we have in South Africa. Qhayiya Jewellery Designs biggest objective is to design and manufacture custom made Platinum Group Metals (PGMs) jewellery for their clients. However, they will still be catering for the clients who are looking for yellow and white gold jewellery, repairs, redesigning and polishing.
Qhayiya Jewellery Designs was part of the SPI enterprises who designed and manufactured jewellery which was incorporated on David Tlale's garments for 92 models on the walk way at the Nelson Mandela bridge. They also exhibited their products at various exhibitions around the country.
They were part of South African Handmade collection at Decorex, the prestigious Jewellex Africa and at the opening of the legislature in Mafikeng the North West province.
