Thuto Jewellery Workshop

As a young boy I always picked up jewellery on the streets. One day I picked up this brooch which was made out of filigree work, it was so intricate that I kept looking at it the whole day wondering on how it was made. Ever since then, every time I passed a jewellery store I would stop and browse at the jewellery displayed on the shop windows, sometimes I would get inside the shops just for browsing.

The passion for jewellery made me relocate to Mpumalanga after completing my matric at HF Tlou high school to do an apprenticeship in jewellery Design and Manufacture at Umjindi Jewellery Project (Barberton) where I obtained my MQA certificate in jewellery design and manufacture. The desire to achieve more made me enroll for a Diploma in Jewellery Design and Manufacture at Tshwane University of Technology which I obtained in 2009.

After completing my National Diploma I couldn't find a job and I couldn't just sit at home and do nothing with the gift, qualification and strong technical skills that I've got. I then decided to give myself an opportunity to put my experience to work by starting my own jewellery business. I believe that Thuto Jewellery Workshop can contribute positively in the economy of our country particularly the North West province.

Thuto Jewellery Workshop specializes in custom made jewellery rings, chains and earrings, which are influenced by the African cultures and jewellery that people can relate to and they can wear everyday by giving it a contemporary touch.

Most of all we design pieces that tells a story and that can be treasured for a lifetime. Our innovative jewellery will make our potential markets grow more every day and my products are simple and affordable to everyone.
